Jeremiah 17:14

Greetings to all our newsletter readers. The Jones Chapel UMC Newsletter “Sharing the News” was started as the Jones Chapel Newsletter in Nov. of 1992. There has actually been 289 issues that have been published as the issue numbers have been a little scued. It was started by Leslye Beria and Chuck Pedrotti. After a year or so Chuck stopped his part and Perry Riden came on board as co-publisher. Then eventually Chuck moved back to California with his family in approximately 1997. For all these 24+ years the Lord has blessed the writings of this monthly paper. A lot of prayer and work has gone into it. At this time, prayer has gone into it wholeheartedly in order to make the decision of whether or not to continue this paper. As of late, the readership has dropped off. So, as was mentioned, through prayer, it has been decided that it is time to put this newsletter to bed. Our season is ending as of this August issue! If anyone would like to take this over each month, we would love to have you take it over! Or if you do not want to see it stopped, please let Perry know.
We are so thankful to everyone who has taken the time to read it, as well as those who have submitted items for publishing. And to each one who has been blessed by it we thank you from our whole hearts.

May God be with you and bless you richly!

There is a time for everything, and a season
for every activity under the heavens:
Ecclesiastes 3:1

Much love and blessings,
Perry and Leslye

God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.  Hebrews 6:10

Kids Say the Funniest Things

A Sunday School teacher decided to have her young class memorize one of the most quoted passages in the Bible — Psalm 23. She gave the youngsters a month to learn the verse. Little Bobby was excited about the task, but he just couldn’t remember the Psalm. After much practice, he could barely get past the first line. On the day that the kids were scheduled to recite Psalm 23 in front of the congregation, Bobby was so nervous. When it was his turn, he stepped up to the microphone and said proudly, “The Lord is my shepherd . . . and that’s all I need to know!”

When life gets too hard to stand, kneel.

“Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.”  Psalms 61:1-3

This should be what we want for our church, our land and our own lives!

Have a blessed month!

We are not planning to be back here next month but God’s will be done!
